Changes to my study programme
I think really than the curriculum, along these years, has lost more than gained, by adding subjects to the curriculum the depth of certain key areas for the training of the “composer” has been weakening or at least he has lost a bit of the base and deepening that would be expected at the time of graduation.
I think that the study plan is a bit unbalanced, for the first years there are few subjects and in the last years it is very saturated, something that could be better distributed from the beginning of the study plan. In this way, the duration of the degree makes sense and is compensated, fully understanding (which a few years are not) but really due to the amount of concepts to assimilate and the amount of concepts to assimilate, together with the techniques and learning processes , require a good time to be effective over time, especially for a comprehensive musical training.
I think that one of the worst things is the infrastructure of the faculty, that more than a faculty I feel like a lot of administrative offices rather than classrooms je je je, and this worsens with the state of the rooms and the entire building, and that the maintenance of the pianos is not something that exists.
Technology is not a priority since it is only used for the digitalization of scores, but I think that a greater depth is needed in the use of technologies in musical composition.
And finally, in terms of teaching methods, I have gone through many teachers: from teachers who should be doing something else to teachers who inspire and dedicate themselves fully to their profession, making their students grow academically and professionally.
Thanks for read.
